Prabu 2025

The website for the 2025 university orientation, used by 5,000+ new students

The orientation's home on the web: the university's profile, the learning material new students work through, and the place they hand in their orientation tasks.

Every new batch starts at orientation, and in 2025 that meant more than 5,000 students arriving at once. Prabu 2025 was the website they did it through: where they met the university, studied, and handed in their work.

What it does

Meet the university

A profile of the university for the students joining it.

Learn the material

The orientation's learning material, in one place.

Hand in tasks

Where students submit their orientation tasks.

How it's built

A Next.js site, built to serve the whole incoming batch. The busiest moments came right before task deadlines, when thousands of students showed up at once to submit, and the site held up through them.

My role

I was the lead frontend engineer on a team of five, from June to August 2025.

Architecture

How the frontend was structured, from pages down to data.

Code standard

The conventions everyone wrote to, so five people's code read as one.

Components

Breaking the designs down into components the team could build in parallel.

Stakeholders

The link between the team and the orientation committee.
